Glamour tests Twilight perfume and cosmetics

Glamour testes the Immortal Twilight perfume and the Twilight cosmetics brand. Here are their results:

It’s time for a quick round of Twilight Saga Trivia, are you ready? What physical (aromatic? olfactory?) feature does Bella possess that initially captivates Edward? As any loyal Twilight devotee knows, it was Bella Swan's alluring scent that had Edward instantly smitten. With the premiere of Breaking Dawn: Part I this week, we wanted to check out Twilight Beauty, the Twilight franchise's official skincare and makeup line—especially Immortal Twilight (from $22), a new fragrance that promises to capture the essence of Bedward’s everlasting, undying romance. So we enlisted Kaitlyn Muchnok, one of our trusty interns here at Glamour HQ, to do some investigative reporting—check out her findings (including what guys think about the new scent!) after the jump.

The perfume mixes top notes of cool citrus and wild chamomile with of white freesia and peony, completed with base notes of patchouli, cool amber, and musk. The combination produces a scent that is distinctly floral and feminine with a slight hint of dampened mystery.
I wanted to check out what guys thought of the Twilight scent, so I asked some guy friends to take a sniff! Check out what they thought of the new perfume:
“I’m not really a Twilight Fan, but that perfume smells nice. If a girl wears this scent, I’d probably even sit through the movie and watch it with her.” —Matt, 22
“Normally, I’d try to keep my distance from girls with vampire characteristics, but this scent might change my mind” —Ryan, 21
“I’ve actually seen Twilight and this definitely smells like a girl in the middle of a damp, dark forest” —Rob, 20
“It’s ok if the girl likes the movies, but does she really need to wear the fragrance?” —John, 25
Aside from the new fragrance, Twilight Beauty also offers vampire-inspired makeup lines. (Okay… I admit it! When I initially saw the products with their vibrant dark hues and fantasy-themed packaging, I thought to myself, “Wait, wasn’t Halloween two weeks ago? And who applies their makeup in the morning with the intention of emulating the Cullen family?”) Still, I was intrigued. So, as a loyal Twilight fan, I decided to pay homage to the Saga’s current movie release and channel my own inner vampire by experimenting with the products.
Once I got in front of a mirror, I started testing with the intention of using the products subtly (i.e. I didn’t want to go to work looking like a blood-thirsty-immortal).

Surprisingly, I was impressed with the quality of the makeup and the freshness of both the Luna and Volturi lines. The Luna Moonshadow for eyes in "Bloom" was just the right creamy bronze color for fall. If you’re looking for a lash lengthener, the Volturi mascara in "Crown Black" night will definitely do the trick.
My favorite item, however, would have to be the Luna Femme Fatale lip-gloss in "Cherry." When carefully applied, it gave my lips that exact same rosy plumpness Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene’s characters consistently flaunt throughout the series.
Twilight Beauty also carries a “First Light” body glow, a nail polish collection, and various blush colors. Overall, I think the key to wearing the Twilight brand products is to choose the softer colors and apply in careful amounts. Save the glittery body glow for nighttime and don’t go too heavy on the blood-red blush. With these suggestions, it’s possible for everyone to feel a little of that sexy vampire beauty without having your necks bitten!
