Meet Ava Jolie Mayeux….Newborn Baby Renesmee!

One-year-old Ava Jolie Mayeux is not just any Louisiana toddler.
The Gonzales native has been a vampire baby eyed by millions of people all over the globe.

Ava was hired as an extra to appear in the box-office smash, ''The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1,'' which was filmed partly in Baton Rouge in 2010.

But Ava was no ordinary extra.

The film's main character Bella Swan, played by actress Kristen Stewart, becomes pregnant in the film after marrying vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen, played by actor Robert Pattinson.

After Swan gives birth to the baby, there is a scene near the end of the film where Swan's trusted friend Rosalie, played by actress Nikki Reed, holds the infant.

That was Ava's big close-up.

Or at least, as het mother Christina James said, her big profile.

Peter Facinelli in DA MAN magazine

He can certainly act, but he’s no one-hit wonder, he’s an ‘All-Rounder’. He can write, he’s a budding filmmaker and he’s a doting father. You may know him as Dr. Coop on the TV show Nurse Jackie, or Dr. Carlisle Cullen, the ‘father’ of the Cullen clan in the Twilight film franchise, but here is a side of 37-year-old New Yorker Peter Facinelli that you may not have seen: fashionable. By Refa Koetin and Salli Paradisio

Peter Facinelli was born in a working-class neighborhood of New York—Ozone Park, Queens—which is the former home of legendary writer Jack Kerouac and the birthplace of the likes of pop singer Cyndi Lauper and mafia don John Gotti.
Facinelli is a first-generation Italian-American, who first got into acting in school, later studying drama full time at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School under the tutelage of top-shelf actors William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman. Facinelli began his professional acting career at the age of 22 in a film called Angela.
A year later, he co-starred with Jennie Garth in An Unfinished Affair and, as fate would have it, Jennie and Peter got married and now have three daughters. Facinelli’s big break came in the TV drama Fastlane (2002-2003), in which he played the lead role of Van Ray.
Next up was accolades for the TV show Six Feet Under, and indie film Arc before being cast as Dr. Carlisle Cullen for the first Twilight film in 2008. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind for Facinelli, but he stays grounded with the help of his four girls at home.

DA MAN: We’ve read that you attended a theater school and had the likes of William H. Macy as a teacher? That must’ve been amazing. What was that like?
Peter Facinelli:
William H. Macy was a guest lecturer and brought along Felicity Huffman when he would do lectures. As a young actor you’re looking to these people who have done prestigious work and it was very inspirational.

DA MAN: How much has your life changed after starring in the Twilight franchise?
Peter Facinelli: My life hasn’t changed much, just gotten a lot busier!

Ashley's interview with TMagazine

T.T.: You are on the go and I’m sure you have some long days. What are the essentials in your bag?
A.G.: Of course I always have my mark staples with me. They’re in my bag now! Make It Go Away Wipes Makeup Removing Wipes, Good Riddance Hook-Up Concealer, Light Bright Lighten and Depuff Eye Gel and Cheat Sheet Shine Blotters.

T.T.: When do you feel most beautiful?
A.G.: After a great workout. You feel cleansed, destressed and healthy. I feel most beautiful when that rush of endorphins hits. That is a glow that makeup cannot match!

T.T.: When do you feel most sexy?
A.G.: When I have a smoky eye, a tan and am wearing a great pair of high heels.

T.T.: Do you usually stick to one fragrance?
A.G.: I change it up, depending on my mood. I usually choose between mark Celebrate, White Vetiver or Sassy fragrances.

T.T.: Is there a beauty item you’ll splurge on?
A.G.: I will splurge on good skin care. Taking care of my skin is a priority. I’ll spend a lot on a really good brightening mask, which is crucial before a shoot or the red carpet.

T.T.: When you work hard and you’re superbusy, what keeps you grounded?
A.G.: My team. The people you surround yourself with on a daily basis. It’s your support system, and I have a good one.

T.T.: What does your perfect day off consist of?
A.G.: Coming from Florida, I’d have to say kicking back on the beach and listening to the ocean, with some good food and music.

T.T.: Beachy hair or straight?
A.G.: Straight!

T.T.: What products do you use to achieve straight hair?
A.G.: When I’m lucky enough to have Ted Gibson as my hairdresser, that helps! His line of hair products is awesome. I especially like the Hairsheet Styling Sheets, Beautiful Hold Hairspray and Tame It Shine Lotion — they work wonders.

T.T.: When you are not working, do you wear much makeup?
A.G.: I prefer to go barefaced. It feels so honest and clean … it’s literally more me! I like to see what my mom and dad gave me whenever possible. If anything, I’ll enhance my lashes with a few individuals at the outer corners, and apply a bit of mascara. A little concealer and a well-shaped brow and I’m ready to go. A good brow really enhances and frames the eyes.

T.T.: What is your mascara of choice?
A.G.: Honestly, I’ve tried many. Lash All You Want Mascara by Mark is really the ultimate mascara.

T.T.: What does your diet consist of?
A.G.: I’m actually quite a foodie. I love a great gourmet meal. In general I stick to greens to stay alkaline, along with fish and chicken. I drink lots of water. I’m always excited to go Europe, because
the food is really special.

T.T.: Do you have a favorite treat?
A.G.: I do enjoy an occasional McDonalds ice cream cone … so delicious!

T.T.: What do you aim for with your style?
A.G.: I like to dress in a way that leaves some mystery. I mix masculine and feminine pieces most of the time. And I enjoy classic glamour too.

T.T.: Who is your style icon?
A.G.: Audrey Hepburn. She had such elegance and beauty. Plus she was a great humanitarian. Her internal beauty made her that much more special.

T.T.: Is there an actor you admire?
A.G.: I would say Cate Blanchett. She is so real, effortless and not contrived in any way. Her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth always blows
me away. Also, I really admire Robert Downey Jr. He’s incredibly magnetic, yet simple and easy … genius!

T.T.: You recently filmed a public service announcement, championing a certain cause. Can you tell me a little about that?
A.G.: Yes. It was for m.empowerment by Mark. Its a philanthropic initiative committed to breaking the cycle of dating abuse and partner violence. The 16-24-year-old group experiences the highest rates of partner violence. Mark and I want to help change that statistic.

All about the Breaking Dawn wedding dress

Ten facts about Bella's wedding dress from Breaking Dawn
  1. Carolina Herrera designed the dress exclusively for Breaking Dawn Part 1 based on input from Twilight author Stephenie Meyer and Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon. They chose from ten sketches that Carolina Herrera created.
  2. The dress was made by hand by Ms.Herrera and four seamstresses, and took a total of six months to complete.
  3. The dress was custom fit precisely for Kristen Stewart, who plays plays Bella Swan / Cullen in the movie.
  4. The dress was created from crepe satin and French Chantilly lace.
  5. 152 buttons line the back of the dress.
  6. There are 17 buttons on each sleeve.
  7. Herrera designed the back to be a surprise, considering it romantic. When it is revealed in the film it makes for a dramatic reveal, I’d say!
  8. The dress will be in Carolina Herrera’s 2012 collection and available at CHNY boutiques. Time for that trip to New York City!
  9. The estimated value of the dress is a whopping $35,000.
  10. Alfred Angelo will be selling replicas of the dress starting at $799 if you want the look for less for your wedding. Big spenders could even get one to be the belle of the ball for a Twilight Convention!

Architercural Digest's interview with Richard Sherman (producton designer)

Production designer Richard Sherman chats with AD about the sets for the fourth movie in the vampire series, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner—with a cameo appearance by a house featured in our January 2011 issue

Readers of Architectural Digest might feel a tug of déjà vu watching certain scenes of Breaking Dawn—Part 1, the latest movie in the popular Twilight series. It’s the penultimate installment of the five-film saga, whose story line centers on a love triangle involving a young woman, a vampire, and a werewolf, played by Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
As it happens, a Brazilian beach house designed by the architecture firm Bernardes + Jacobsen, which was featured in AD’s January 2011 issue, also has a starring role, as the honeymoon retreat where Bella Swan (Stewart) and her vampire husband, Edward Cullen (Pattinson), finally consummate their romance. In anticipation of the November 18 release, AD talked with the film’s production designer, Richard Sherman, to get the stories behind the movie’s sets, life on location with the young stars, and his approach to designing the wedding of the century.

AD: How did you choose the Bernardes + Jacobsen house for Edward and Bella’s Brazilian honeymoon?

RS: We looked at pictures and found a house we loved. But two days later we learned it was going to be blown up because it had been built illegally.
The next morning I got on a plane to Brazil, hopped on a boat, and went through countless islands along the coastline south of Rio. It took us four weeks to finally find the Bernardes + Jacobsen house, which had a tropical modern interior and was located near Paraty on the coast that we liked.

AD: Did you change anything about the house?

RS: For the movie we actually created our own exterior—what’s visible when you approach the house by boat—in the visual effects department.
What you see of the real house is the front door, the steps leading up to it, the veranda, and all those glass doors. I loved the interior. We made a big open kitchen and living room.
Some of the scenes that take place inside the house were actually shot on soundstages in Louisiana, where we created a courtyard, a bathroom, and the bedroom where Edward and Bella spend their wedding night. It was a seamless set—you really couldn’t tell the difference between the house and our stages.

AD: How closely did you follow the descriptions in the book when filming in Brazil?

RS: In some cases we really veered away from the book. What works well on the page doesn’t always work well on film.
The location was challenging. Stephenie Meyer, who wrote the novels, set the honeymoon on an island in the middle of nowhere.
Brazil is famous for its many islands down the coastline from Rio to Paraty.
When you look out from the location where we shot, you don’t just see a horizon of water, as she wrote, but all these beautiful tropical islands. In the end it all worked out very well.
